5 speed overdrive, belt drive.  Looks and rides like new.  Many many extras including high compression pistons as part of an upgrade offered during the recall on the tranny in 2003.  In addition to more power overall, biggest effect is more low end torque.  Really nice change.

1,670cc, air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 8-valve, 48 degree V-twin - 4 valves per cylinder = breathing efficiency, 2 spark plugs per cylinder = complete combustion for max power output.  Hydraulic valve lifters, twin crankcase-mounted camshafts = performance and reduced maintenance.  Pushrod valve actuation keeps engine height down for a lower centre of gravity.  Ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation, reduce weight, reduce friction and increase cylinder service life.  Single Mikuni BSR 40mm CV carburetor with throttle position sensor features an accelerator pump, carburetor heater and classic side-mounted air filter to ensure great throttle response and optimum power throughout the rev range.  The throttle position sensor is linked to the CDI and supplies info about throttle opening so the CDI can adjust ignition timing for max power.  Smooth-shifting 5-speed with 5th gear overdrive delivers reduced RPMs at highway speeds.  All new, 2-piece heel-and-toe shifter allows the rider to adjust front and rear portions for foot size or remove the rear section if not desired.  2-into-2 exhaust produce a soulful V-twin tune.  Stylish 32 degree rake, long 66.3 inch wheelbase = solid, stable handling.  Spring preload-adjustable, single-shock, rear link suspension lowers centre for that classic, hard-tail look.  Rear wheel travel is 110mm (4.3 inches).  Dual 298mm front disc brakes, 320mm rear disc brake with 4-piston caliper provides excellent stopping power and feel.  Separate rider and passenger seats provide lots of support and comfort.  Powerful, 12V 60/55-watt, halogen headlight maximizes nighttime visibility.  Low-maintenance, sealed battery ensures fuss-free, dependable starting.  Electric fuel pump.  Engine 4-stroke, air-cooled, OHV, 8-valve, 48 degree, V-twin.  Displacement 1,670cc.  Bore and stroke 97 x 113mm.  Compression Ratio 8.4 to 1.  Maximum Torque 106.3 ft-lbs at 2500 rpm.  Fuel Delivery Mikuni BSR40 x 1.  Ignition Digital TCI.  Transmission 5-speed.  Final Drive belt.  Length 98.4 inches.  Wheelbase 66.5 inches.  Seat Height 28 inches.  Dry Weight 686.4 lbs.  Fuel Capacity 4.4 gallons.
